The glass is basically silica, lime and a flux, dating back to Phoenician times and it is believed that it was by a sort of chance when lighting a fire on the floor formed by nitrate mixed with sand, then turn rise to a clear fluid that when cooled get solid.

Back in Roman times, around the century l a. C., was blowing glass containers in shape. They were also the first to use window.

Today its manufacturing is done in a crucible and its composition has been made more stable by increasing the silica and lowering the other two components unlike the Middle Ages when the mixture was more lime and melts.

The mixed metal oxides together with these components make the glass in  different colors, being very different today.

The glass with more brightness and perhaps that brings more beauty often is blown glass. And this is the most generally used to shape the light in different forms and colors.
